The petition “For Europe, for Hungary” by Hungarian civil society organisations and individuals to the leaders of European institutions was launched on 20 January 2026. The announcement of the initiative and the roundtable discussion were attended by István Hegedűs on behalf of the Hungarian Europe Society together with Eszter Nagy, President of the Hungarian Union of European Federalists, József Martin, President of the Hungarian Section of the European Journalists' Association, Éva Pákozdi, President of the Hungarian European Women - MENŐK, István Szent-Iványi, President of Connect Europe and foreign policy expert moderated by Judit Csernyánszky in the Laurel event center.
